Twitter Pre-Roll ads are 3rd party ad served via a VAST tag, auto-play muted and show up against premium publisher videos wherever the videos appear in Twitter user’s Home Timeline, Profiles and Search.

Max Ad Length Max 10 minutes
Max File Size Less than 1 GB recommended
Resolution 16:9
Ad Format HLS and/or MP4. At least one variant must be an MP4 for mobile web playback
Audio Code AAC LC (Low Complexity), stereo
  • Encoding H.264, baseline, Main or High profile with a 4:2:0 color space
  • Bitrate: 320000 kbps, 832000 kbps, 1280000 kbps
  • Frame Rate: 29.97fps or 30fps
Execution Timeline
  • Twitter advertising using TubeMogul is currently in Beta-mode and run as a managed service.
  • Turnaround time to set up campaign is 2-3 days
